Coal auction case: SC dismisses plea for more time for paying penalties

Just In: The Supreme Court has dismissed a plea challenging the ordinance that paved the way for auctioning of coal mines. The apex court rejected the pleas by some private firms seeking an extension of time for paying penalty in a coal blocks allocation case. The court also dismissed the plea of these firms for participating inthe auction process without paying penalty by the December 31 deadline.
