Sydney hostage crisis: Several held inside cafe, Islamic flag displayed near window

An Islamic flag has been displayed against a window at the Lindt Chocolate Cafe in Sydney where several people have been taken hostages sparking a security lockdown in an area home to government and corporate headquarters.

Adding to the unfolding drama, the nearby Sydney Opera House was also cleared by police, apparently over a suspicious package. It was not clear if the two incidents were related.
