Behind the benches in Parliament today
December 15, 2014  17:14
There was uproar in the Rajya Sabha today and repeated adjournments as Opposition pressed for an immediate debate on the issue of conversions and a reply from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Consequently, there was a deadlock with the government insisting that Home Minister Rajnath Singh would give the reply.

That was the news and here's the gossip from the Lok Sabha.

Chirag Paswan, Lok Sabha MP and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan's son, is a regular in Parliament, wore a natty suit today, saluted the chair and took his seat. He was seen chatting with MPs of his age group like the INLD's  Dushyant Chautala.

Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath came did not look at Rahul Gandhi who was seated in the third row  chatting with Jyotiraditya Scindia, when he entered the Lok Sabha today. And that, dear reader, is very rare.

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh was in Central Hall today and was heard talking about the upcoming calendar of his lectures -- Germany and France in December, London in January and the USA in February.
