Madan Mitra remanded to CBI custody till Dec 16

West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra has been remanded to CBI custody till December 16 in connection with his involvement in the Saradha scam.

Mitra's arrest had stoked state wide protests led by the Trinamool Congress.

TMC leader Mamata Banerjee had earlier called the arrest part of a "deep rooted conspiracy".
