Karnataka govt bans Uber

The Karnataka government has banned Uber cab services in the state in the aftermath of the 23-year-old passenger's rape in Delhi last Friday.

Uber is not registered with the transport department, the Karnataka government said.

Following Center's directives to all states to stop the operation of web-based taxi services, Uber has been banned in Delhi, Hyderabad and Maharashtra,
