Get ready for Laws, the laser weapon from America!

The American navy now has a new weapon in its arsenal: a laser weapon. Called Laws (or laser weapon system), the US navy released a video showing it being deployed aboard the USS Ponce in September in the Persian Gulf.

Used against two targets, the laser destroyed a speedboat and drones in the sky.

Laws has been in development for many years, and even the permission from Pentagon took some time in coming. Under the Geneva Convention, laser weapons cannot be used against human targets.

Still in prototype form, Laws should be deployed in combat-ready version by the year 2020.
