Three women Maoists, one of them carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head, have surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, the police said today.

The cadres turned themselves in before the police last evening citing disappointment with the movement "on account of the exploitation of lower rank rebels and women by senior Naxal leaders", Bijapur additional superintendent of police Indira Kalyan Elesela, said.

Of the surrendered, Maini Majji alias Kavita (24) was the most dreaded one and had been associated with the outlawed CPI-Maoist since 2004. She worked as member of Maoist's Bhairamgarh platoon-13 and also as a "section commander" of platoon-12 in Gangloor region, the ASP said.
