Conversion row: Congress demands discussion in Rajya Sabha

The Congress has given a notice in the Rajya Sabha demanding a discussion on the conversion row.

Yesterday, the Parliament saw protests over the the conversions in Agra on Monday, reportedly by groups linked to the BJP's ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

An FIR has been filed against the Agra conversions based on a villager's allegation that 57 Muslim families chosen from a rag-pickers' colony were given inducements like I-cards for welfare schemes to convert to Hinduism.
