The Delhi Commission for Women on Tuesday summoned the local Chief Executive Officer of international taxi-booking service Uber over the alleged rape of a 27-year-old woman by one of its drivers on Friday.

"I have called the local CEO of the cab company today. We will try our best that this cab company is closed. Also, it needs to be investigated who brought this company to India and how it started," DCW chairperson Barkha Shukla said.

An FIR had been lodged earlier against Uber by the Delhi Police for cheating customers on the pretext of providing safe commuting with duly verified driver.
