'Maintain civility in public discourse'

As the deadlock in the Rajya Sabha continues, chairperson Hameed Ansari called an all-party meeting after a week of disruptions, despite statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in both houses.

Following the compromise accepted by the government as well as the opposition, the chairperson appealed to all parties to "maintain civility in public discourses and uphold commitment to constitutional values."
