Top Al Qaeda commander killed in Pakistan

A top Al Qaeda terrorist indicted in the United States over a foiled plot to bomb the New York City subway was killed in Pakistan today, the army said.

Adnan el Shukrijumah, who was indicted in July 2010 for his alleged role in planned terror attacks in the US and Britain, was killed along with two others in a raid in South Waziristan, the military said in a statement to NBC News.

He was in charge of Al Qaeda's global operations.
