Rapper Beanie Sigel shot, in critical condition

American rapper Beanie Sigel is reportedly in a critical condition after being shot in the stomach. The 44-year-old rap artist was shot outside his home in Pleasantville, New Jersey on Friday morning, reported TMZ online.

Sigel, real name Dwight Grant, was hit in the stomach by a bullet that travelled out of his back, according to Pleasantville Police Chief Jose Ruiz. He was taken to a local hospital, the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where his injuries were described as life-threatening. He remains sedated and in a critical condition.

In a statement released by his attorney Fortunato Perri Jr, Sigel was apparently not the intended target of the shooting. He was returning home having taken his children to school when he came across an altercation going on near his property.
