Argentine footballer dies after hooligan attack

Argentine football player Franco Nieto, 33, died after being struck in the head following a match. Nieto, the captain of regional club Tiro Federal, was beaten and bashed with rocks on Saturday, and died on Wednesday. According to the police, the match between Tiro Federal and Chacarita ended early owing to an on-pitch fight between the players. After the game was over, Nieto was attacked by several people, which eventually led to his demise.
