India celebrates 43rd Navy Day today

A series of operational displays will be held in Visakhapatnam on Thursday to celebrate the 43rd Navy Day, commemorating the Indian Navy 's successful operation on Karachi Harbour during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will be the chief guest at the event scheduled to take place at the Ramakrishna Beach.

According to reports, operational display will have 20 ships, 23 aircraft and a submarine showcasing the capability and versatility of Naval ships, submarines, aircraft and the Special Forces.

The event will begin with Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Satish Soni laying a wreath at the War Memorial on the Ramakrishna Beach.
