DMK chief Karunanidhi leaves TN Assembly, says, 'No place for disabled like me'

DMK chief M Karunanidhi today angrily left the Tamil Nadu assembly, saying "there is no place here for a disabled like me."

NDTV reports that the wheelchair-bound former chief minister left the house after marking his attendance.

"There is no place for a disabled like me in the assembly. I'm sad they act in a way to ensure that I leave. I've served as an MLA for 50 years. Today I'm unable to serve. I did not expect this kind of disrespect," Karunanidhi, 90, said as he left.

The veteran politician said he had expected special seating as he was on a wheelchair.He has been using the electrically-powered wheelchair since 2008.
