Five security force personnel were among six people injured in a grenade attack by militants in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday, reports Rediff.com's Mukhtar Ahmad.

Militants hurled a grenade at a party of security force personnel at around 5.30 pm in the Pohu area wounding six, police said.

The injured included four CPRF personnel, a policeman and a civilian, they said. The militants escaped from the scene taking advantage of the panic caused by the blast.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Pulwama is going to the polls in the third phase of voting on December 9.
