LIVE! Governors for Maharashtra, K'taka, Goa, Rajasthan announced

The names of new governors for four states - Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Goa -- has been finalised.

Senior BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh heavyweight Kalyan Singh has been appointed governor of Rajasthan. He will replace the UPA appointee Margaret Alva, whose tenure ended earlier this month.

Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, former Union minister from Andhra Pradesh, will be Maharashtra's new governor after K. Sankaranarayanan resigned on Sunday.

Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala, current Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will be the next Governor of Karnataka.

BJP Mahila Morcha leader Mridula Sinha will be governor of Goa.
