The two Pappus in the well of the house in Parliament today
August 06, 2014  19:00
The Prime Minister has reconciled to doing a Manmohan Singh in Parliament. Narendra Modi never talks in Parliament, but watches proceedings keenly. Today, he watched agitated Congress MPs who trooped to the well of the house and crossed over to the treasury benches, which is not usually done.

BJP MP Kirti Azad asked RJD MP Pappu Yadav not to cross the floor, but it went unheeded and Yadav walked to where the PM was seated.

Rahul Gandhi, who showed unusual aggression in Parliament today,  followed in Yadav's footsteps -- shouting and sloganeering -- demanding justice for atrocities on minorities.

It was then that Speaker Sumitra Majahan asked Congress leaders to name the town or city or state where the atrocities were being committed on minorities.

Rahul Gandhi did not have answer.

On seeing this, many BJP MPs shouted and asked how were there two Pappus in the well of the House, a reference to Rahul and Pappu Yadav.

In the din, the Congress did not hear what was being said, or the proceedings could have livened up a little more.
