Jogen Chowdhury to be first artist-in-residence at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Rajya Sabha MP Jogen Chowdhary has been invited to be the inaugural artist to stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan under the 'In-Residence Scheme for Writers and Artists'. Several paintings of Chowdhary already form part of the Rashtrapati Bhavan art collection.

Chowdhary is Prof. Emeritus of Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan and former Keeper (Art) at Rashtrapati Bhavan (1972-87). 

The 'In-Residence Scheme for Writers and Artists' was launched by the President of India on December 11, 2013 with the aim of providing writers and artists an opportunity to stay in Rashtrapati Bhavan and be a part of the life there.
