Two militants killed in encounter in Keran sector near LoC

In the first incursion since new army chief Dalbir Singh Suhag took over yesterday, two militants were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Keran sector near the Line of Control in Kashmir as they were trying to return to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a defence spokesman informed on Friday.

The two militants were killed during an operation launched by army in Keran sector of Kupwara district on Thursday following a specific input about their movement in the area, the spokesman said.
