Ukraine president slams police 'inaction', 'treachery' in east

Ukraine's interim president launched a stinging attack on police forces in the east of the country today, accusing them of "inaction" and "treachery" as pro-Russian militants overrun public buildings. 

Oleksandr Turchynov said in a statement that events in the restive east of the country had "shown the inaction, powerlessness and in some cases criminal treachery of the law enforcement authorities".
