April 30, 2014  18:25

The Election Commission has lodged two FIRs against the BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi for flashing party symbol after casting his vote in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, NDTV reports.

"It is evident from Modi's tone and tenor that he made a political speech. He intended, calculated to influence voting today," the commission said, adding that it also wants television channels to be penalised.

Ahmedabad Crime Branch will investigate the matter.
