Cong has lost confidence about winning polls: Naidu
April 27, 2014  16:59

Stating that Congress was not confident of winning the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today said the party is now even talking about seeking or extending support to the Third Front.   "Union Minister Salman Khurshid and Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan have publicly expressed fears about the poll results. As the Congress leaders are not confident of winning the elections, they are now indulging in personal attacks and violating the moral and ethical standards. The party is even talking about seeking or extending support to the Third Front," Naidu told reporters here today.

"All this shows that the next government at the Centre will not be formed by the UPA," he added.

Claiming that the 'Modi wave' has swept the country, Naidu said, "People have decided to teach Congress a lesson for its failure to fulfil the promises it had made during the 2004 elections."

The Congress had promised to pass the Women's Reservation Bill during the 15th Lok Sabha, which is still pending. They also failed to tackle the issue of price rise, he added.
