CNN-IBN reports: After much debate over the maximum city's dismal voter turnout in the past, Mumbai on Friday finally recorded a medium turnout of 53 per cent.

However, thousands people returned home without casting their votes as their names were not on the voters list.

A PIL will be filed on Monday in the Bombay High Court over the issue.

Corporate leaders including HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh also complained about their names missing from the voters list. "My name is not in the voters list.

I have always cast my vote from here. I kept waiting for my voter card and that did not arrive," Deepak Parekh said.
