Indian naval officers were caught by surprise when visiting Chinese naval chief, Admiral Wu Shengli, requested a tour of the most sensitive nerve centre of India's missile frigate, INS Shivalik, while he made a brief courtesy call on it, reports Ananth Krishnan in The Hindu

The Indian frigate had arrived in Qingdao, an eastern port city in China which is also the base of the People's Liberation Army Navy's North Sea Fleet, to take part in exercises to mark the Chinese Navy's 65th anniversary.

Admiral Wu's unusual request, however, was handled deftly by the frigate's commanding officer, Captain Puruvir Das. To know how exactly he achieved this, click here to find out.
