Voting begins in 117 constituencies spread across 11 states

Voting began at 7 am in 117 constituencies spread across 11 states and one union territory in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls 2014. 

All seats 39 -in Tamil Nadu, 19 in Maharashtra, 12 in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, seven each in Bihar and Chhattisgarh, six each in Assam and West Bengal, five in Rajasthan, four in Jharkhand, one in Jammu and Kashmir and one in Puducherry are voting today. 

The largest round of polling for 121 seats was held in April 17. 

Of the 117 seats voting today, the Congress had won 36 in 2009, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 26, the DMK 18, the AIADMK 9 and the Samajwadi Party 5. 

Voting for 349 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats will be completed with the sixth phase today, leaving the last three stages.
