Honeymoon murder suspect Dewani extradited to S Africa

UK-based Indian-origin businessman Shrien Dewani was today extradited to South Africa to stand trial for allegedly plotting the 2010 murder of his Indo-Swedish wife while on their honeymoon.

Dewani, 34, was put on a flight to Cape Town from Heathrow to face a charge for ordering the contract killing of his wife Anni, which he denies. "Shrien Prakash Dewani, 34, has today, 7 April, at approx 20:00hrs (local time) been extradited from the UK to South Africa," said the Scotland Yard statement.
