Back in Mumbai, Narendra Modi works the crowd. "There is a Government with whom India is not ready to walk with. This never happened earlier," he says referring to the perceived disenchantment with UPA2.

He adds, "Since Independence I do not think there is a person who has been abused, attacked, criticized so much as Narendra Modi. So much lies have been said, yet the people have continued to support me. I am sure we had shortcomings, but our intentions were never questioned," he says.

Modi given a rousing welcome at the diamond bourse in Mumbai and even weighed in silver.
