Sibal tried to save Lalu with new law on tainted MPs

From a correspondent in Delhi: Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath had approached BJP leader Sushma Swaraj to seek her help in getting the Parliament session extended, in order to debate and pass the bill to save convicted legislators.   

Kamal Nath even conveyed his displeasure about the way in which Sibal was pushing his agenda to help Lalu Prasad.    

But with the active collaboration and floor coordination by Nath, with some help from the BJP and CPI-M, Sibal's attempts to save Prasad were thwarted.
