Lankan MPs head to India to woo Dr Singh

A correspondent from Delhi reports: Thirty four newly elected Tamil legislators from the north-eastern province of Sri Lanka are likely to visit New Delhi in the middle of October to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. 

They will also meet senior BJP and CPI-M leaders, 

The Lankan government is sponsoring this visit.

The ultimate agenda of the visit is to woo Dr Singh and convince him to participate in the Commonwealth Summit in November
