Shinde: Sentence sets example that such acts will not be tolerated

Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde says he welcomes the death sentence. "Justice has been given to the girl and her family. Sentence sets an example that such crimes will not be tolerated. A tough message has been conveyed," he says.

He says as per the new anti-rape law convicts will get the death penalty in such cases, but he said he was happy that the case which was judged as per old laws, still got the death sentence.
