Ramesh's jibe: Soren must have not read land bill well
September 13, 2013  01:21

Union Minister Jairam Ramesh on Thursday said Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren must not have read Land Acquisition Bill in its totality, which led to Soren's observation that the bill was not in favour of the people in Jharkhand.

"I think due to busy schedule, he did not get time to read the bill fully, leading to his doubts over the bill," he said, adding that that the bill addressed the interests of land owners and that the state could also add better benefits to the land donors.

The rural development minister was replying to Soren expressing dissatisfaction with the Land Acquisition Bill passed by Parliament saying it was not in favour of the people in Jharkhand, particularly the dwellers in the mining areas. To a query, Ramesh denied there was lack of coordination among the Congress and the JMM in the state.
