BJP deadlock over Modi continues, Gadkari to meet Advani

The deadlock over the anointment of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate continues.

In a last attempt to resolve the issue with party veteran L K Advani, RSS ideologue Gurumurthi and Murlidhar Roa emerge as the key negotiators, reports CNN-IBN. The RSS insists that Modi must be made the PM candidate, but efforts must be made to placate Advani as well.

Former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari to meet Advani once again to try to resolve the matter. Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj are also likely to meet Modi. 

Former party chief Nitin Gadkari has been playing the role of peace-maker and will make one more attempt to resolve the issue with Advani as party president Rajnath Singh's emissary on Friday morning.
