As expected, Pawan Gupta's lawyer says the convict is young, uneducated and comes from a poor family. He was drunk and while he was in the bus, he did not participate in the rape or the bestiality.

However, the girl's dying declaration and her friend's statements to the court says that Pawan Gupta raped, brutalised and threw the two out of the bus.
