57 missing defence personnel lodged in Pak jails: Govt

As many as 57 defence personnel, who are listed as having gone missing during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971, are believed to be languishing in Pakistani jails, the defence ministry has stated.        

Of these, 12 are said to be from the two states of Punjab and Haryana and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.        

While Punjab was home to six of the missing personnel, five belonged to Haryana, with the remaining one hailing from Chandigarh.
