Jairam Ramesh to resign soon

From a correspondent in Delhi: Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh plans to resign from the Union government in the first week of October, having accomplished the task assigned to him by Rahul Gandhi -- to get the Land Acquisition Bill passed in Parliament. Ramesh's next stop is the Congress War Room.

Ramesh will get the rules framed for the land bill and get them operationalised by October 2, the birth day of Mahatma Gandhi.

Congress wants to name the Land Bill as the Rajiv Gandhi Land Acquisition Bill.
