11 policemen among 13 hurt in Pulwama grenade atatck

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: At least 13 persons, including 11 policemen, were injured in a powerful hand grenade explosion in south Kashmir's Pulwama town on Saturday afternoon.

A senior police officer said unidentified militants hurled a grenade at a posse of the local police in Pulwama town which exploded injuring 11 policemen and two civilians.

"All the injured persons were evacuated to hospital for treatment," the officer said.

The area was immediately surrounded for searches.
