Live! Govt defers RTI Bill, no consensus among parties for amendments

Just in: The government has deferred the crucial RTI Bill. The Bill will now be sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee and will come up for discussion in the Winter Session.

The amendments to the Bill was opposed by the TMC, BJD and CPI and the government decided to defer it due to lack of consensus.
