No more tears: Onion prices may ease soon as South India crop hits mkt

Onion prices, which continues to rule at an unaffordable level of Rs 60-70 per kg, are expected to cool down in the coming days as new crop from south India has started hitting the market, the government said today. Since the last one and half months, retail price of onion skyrocketed up to Rs 80 per kg in most parts of the country, affecting consumer budget and forcing the government to curb exports and allow imports.
