Rediff.com's Sheela Bhatt reporting from New Delhi:

In a surprise move, the accused of  the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case and jailed Gujarat police officer DG Vanzara has written a 10-page letter to the Home department of Gujarat alleging that the Narendra Modi government has done to save him for the ordeal that he is currently facing.

He has, reportedly, submitted his resignation from the police force. Although the details of the letter are not yet known, the source in Gandhinagar said that Vanzara has been frustrated since a long because he felt that his seniors and the political leadership that he served had let him down. Vanzara has reportedly accused the Modi government of protecting former home minister Amit Shah while dumping police officials in encounter cases.
