The government has put on hold a proposal for meeting between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan to discuss the issue of ceasefire violations on the Line of Control and the International Border.

The decision was taken by the Government in view of the advice by the armed forces that the Pakistan side was not showing much interest in having any such meeting, official sources said here.

In view of this, the Government will not pursue the proposal of meeting between the two sides and decided to put it on hold, they said. The DGMO-level meeting was first proposed during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's talks with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif in the US.
