Pak troops kill Indian Army officer at LoC

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar: Prakash Chandar, a junior commissioned officer (JCO), was killed when Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire on the Line of Control in Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district this morning.

Pakistani troops opened heavy fire at an army post near the Kaman bridge in the early hours today, said a defence spokesperson. "The Indian Army has lodged a protest with the Pakistan Army on the hotline," said the defence spokesperson.
