Conclave of Indian Ambassadors on Nov 4

A correspondent from Delhi reports: A three-day Conclave of Indian Ambassadors posted in World Capitals will take place in Delhi from November 4.

Crucial international issues like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent visit to China, Russia and United States will be among the topics discussed at the Conclave.

Dr Singh will inaugurate the Conclave while 15 senior Union ministers are also expected to participate. Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh will be the chief moderator.

This is the last annual event of the UPA's tenure. The foreign ministry is also planning to have interactions between ambassadors and Leaders of Opposition in Parliament.

Some ambassadors have also sought the government's permission to meet Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
