PDP expresses dismay over Speaker's decision on V K Singh

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party today expressed dismay over the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker's decision to "send a letter" to former army chief General (Retd) V K Singh instead of summoning him in connection with his remarks.

This is breach of the Speaker's own ruling in the House, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said, adding, "The U-turn by the Speaker (Mubarak Gul) on this sensitive subject has in no way added to the prestige of the House, the restoration of which was the focus of the discussion on Singh's expose about the pay-offs to politicians."
