Delhi Police's most wanted gangster shot dead in encounter

NDTV reports: Neetu Dabodia, Delhi Police's most wanted gangster, was killed in an encounter with the Special Cell on Thursday night. Two of Dabodia's aides were also killed in the encounter that took place near a hotel in Vasant Kunj area of south Delhi.

According to the police, the gangster's car was intercepted at around 10:30 pm near Vasant Kunj. Dabodia and his aides opened fire at the policemen who retaliated killing the gangster and his aides.

Dabodia and his two accomplices were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where they were declared brought dead.

He was involved in several cases of extortion, contract killing and murder and carried a reward of Rs. seven lakh. Dabodia had escaped from Haryana Police's custody in August last year when he was being brought from Saket court from Bhondsi Jail in Gurgaon.

He had killed a head constable on Delhi-Haryana border in November 2012 and was injured in an encounter with the Special Cell of Delhi Police and Punjab Police in February.
