PM has no scope of going scot-free: BJP
October 23, 2013  23:41
With the CBI writing to the Prime Minister's Office seeking all records related to the allocation of coal block to Hindalco, BJP today said the PM should resign.

"The CBI has demanded all files related to coal block allocation from the PMO. Now what is the PM waiting for? Is he waiting to be quizzed by the agency?" BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters.

He alleged that at the time when scam took place the coal ministry was with the PM and therefore the entire responsibility was his.

"He must resign. There is no scope of him going scot-free," he said.

Javadekar said that in the CWG scam, Suresh Kalmadi was held responsible because the files were finally signed by him and the same goes for the then Telecom minister A Raja for the 2G scam.

He alleged that the PM finally signed files relating to coal block allotment to 140 companies, then why he was not being held responsible.
