October 21, 2013  11:59
J-K chief minister Omar Abdullah said today that Pakistan should be given a fitting reply if it continues ceasefire violations. "Peace can't be a one-sided affair. We can't be at receiving end all the time without giving any response," he said.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hinted at seeking US intervention to resolve the Kashmir tangle. A US State Department official made it clear that there was not an 'iota of change' in their Kashmir policy.

Sharif made the comment as he began a four-day visit to the US, the first such bilateral visit in five years.

Omar struck down the Pak PM's proposal saying India was not open to any foreign intervention to Kashmir.
