Ahead of the CBI's status report before the Supreme Court on the coal scam tomorrow, news is that the report is likely to contain the details of latest FIRs filed against industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, former Coal Secretary PC Parakh and the "competent authority" named by the CBI in its investigation.

The CBI will not back away from probing Birla, despite the PMO statement validating the allotment to Birla.
