Achuthanandan's comments baseless, unwarranted: CPI-M

The CPI-M today termed as "baseless and unwarranted" comments by its senior leader V S Achuthanandan that the Left was defeated in 2011 Kerala assembly polls due to lapses like "irrational" selection of candidates and asked him to refrain from making such charges in public.

"Comrade Achuthanandan should desist from making such uncalled for remarks in public," the party Politburo said in a statement.
