Sheela Bhatt in New Delhi reports: The CBI has found more than Rs 25 crore cash from industrialist Kumarmangalam Birla's office on Wednesday, said CBI spokeswoman Kanchan Prasad while talking to Rediff.com

The cash was found in the office of Hindalco, owned by Birla, in UCO bank building near Parliament in New Delhi.

Birla was recently named as an accused in the ongoing  coal scam case. The case pertains to irregular allotment of coal mines by the Congress-led UPA government.

When asked how the CBI will link the seized cash to the alleged illegal allotment of coal mine to Hindalco, Prasad said they have not yet drawn such a link.

The cash has been handed over to the income tax department.
